What's your favorite way to unwind after a long day? 

Listening to a podcast or book that does not make me "think", just let's me absorb and enjoy....and to even increase the overall calming pleasure, mop the floors while listening.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? 

Endless Superstrength!  Throwing these 50 pound carboys around is not getting easier!

What's one thing most people don't know about you? (possibly a unique fact or hidden talent.)

I am a geek.  I love to dig into topics, tech & projects that the majority of people find terribly lame.

What's your go-to karaoke song (or if you don't do karaoke, what song always gets you moving)? I believe the once and only time I sang karaoke was in 1999 and it was "love shack".  If you consider singing in your basement with your significant other karaoke, then anything by Pink.  Pink rules.

What's your favorite thing about working at Roots Refillery? 

This is a loaded question.  I love everything.  From seeing our mission of reducing waste in the world and putting people and our planet first happen every single day, to meeting wonderful customers who bring a smile to my face.  Building relationships with our incredible Canadian vendors, finding, trying and falling in love with products that are made with aligned values at the forefront, I could go on and on.  My team.  My team is amazing.  We have so many laughs and they keep me feeling young!

Char is our youngest team member, attending the Medicine Hat College in preparation of her dream to becoming a travelling nurse.  Fun fact, Crystal has known Char since she was knee high to a grasshopper.

Teleportation, so I could travel anywhere at any time

Kate

Kate is a recent graduate of the Sustainable Innovation program at the Medicine Hat College.  Kate loves the earth and loves exploring the outdoors and everything it has to offer.

What's your favorite way to unwind after a long day? 

My beverage of choice and a favourite book/tv show/movie. Recently I've been rewatching the series Taskmaster and not so patiently waiting for the new season to come out!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why? 

I would want the power to shape shift, because it's like having multiple powers in one! (you could become a bird and fly, or a fish and breathe underwater, etc.)

What's one thing most people don't know about you? (possibly a unique fact or hidden talent.)

I am (technically) a black belt in martial arts but you wouldn't know it because I'm so clumsy! (Don't ask me to show off any moves, I haven't practiced in ages). Also, my instructor was the Canadian politician Dan Albas, which I find quite funny when thinking back on it now.

What's your go-to karaoke song (or if you don't do karaoke, what song always gets you moving)? 

My go to karaoke song would be either The Climb by Miley Cyrus (killed at my childhood sleepovers) or It's Raining Men by the Weather Girls! 

What's your favorite thing about working at Roots Refillery? 

My favourite thing about working at the refillery has to be the people (our team and the customers). I've never worked a retail job that felt so rewarding before. (I also love when labels come off their containers in one go, so satisfying).
